We completely Re-wired the truck front to back and re-plumbed the fuel system with an EFI style rear mount 255lph pump, an Aeromotive Fuel Pressure Regulator, new Fittings, and A-N Hoses.
The rear axle was gone through and regeared. We installed a posi, and all seals and bearings were replaced.
History
and Facts
Engine
The standard engine was a 250 in³ straight six or a 283 cu in (4.6 L) V8, but the 283 was replaced in 1968 with a 307 cu in (5.0 L) V8. Other engine options included a 292 six, a 327 in³ V8, and a 396 cu in (6.5 L) V8.
The 396 V8 was available in two versions, one with a two-barrel carburetor and 275 horsepower, and the other with a four-barrel carburetor and 310 horsepower.
Transmission
The standard transmission was a three-speed manual, but other options included a four-speed manual, Powerglide, and Turbo-Hydramatic 350 and 400.
Interior
The interior was available in white or black, and options included a full-width seat with foam cushion or bucket seats, an eight-black rubber floor mat, and a sunshade for the driver.
Exterior
The truck had a standard two-tone paint scheme of white on the roof and sides of the cab, and a chrome front bumper was available as an option.
Other features
The 1968 C10 also had a Custom Comfort and Convenience interior package and a 50th Anniversary package that included an exclusive white-gold-white paint scheme to commemorate Chevrolet's 50 years of truck manufacturing.
