Pickup Truck
The Chevrolet Advance Design pickup truck was manufactured from 1947 to 1955 and made available in half-ton, three-quarter-ton, and full-ton capacities, featuring short and long wheelbases.
Key specifications for the 1953 and 1954 models are as follows:
1953:
The trucks boasted a double-walled, welded steel unit body referred to as "Battle Cab Construction," contributing to enhanced strength and durability. Notable advantages included improved performance, reduced operating costs, and a refreshed fleet appearance.
1954:
Noteworthy alterations were introduced for the Advance Design pickup during this year, comprising a singular curved windshield devoid of a central vertical dividing strip, an overhauled steering wheel and dashboard, horizontal cargo bed rails in lieu of angled ones, rounded tail lights replacing the rectangular counterparts, and the adoption of a "bull nose" grille design featuring a crossbar, as opposed to the prior five horizontal slats. Additionally, the 1954 model was equipped with a 235 cubic inch straight-6 engine.
