Moke’s History
In the late 1950s, the British Motor Company and designer Alec Issigonis created the Moke as a military vehicle for the British army. Although it was originally intended for combat and could be parachuted from the skies, its military use was short-lived.
However, the open-air car gained popularity with celebrities such as Brigitte Bardot, Princess Margaret, Emperor Rosko, and the Beach Boys, as well as with surfers and travelers in the Caribbean.
The Moke became known for its association with the laid-back island style.
